Thrasyvoulos Manios
Dr. Thrasyvoulos Manios has been a Professor at the Hellenic Mediterranean University, H.M.U., since 2005. He has served as Vice-Chancellor for Financial Affairs, Planning, and Development and the President of the Department of Agriculture in the School of Agricultural Sciences. Additionally, he is the Director of the Postgraduate Program 'Applied Science and Technology in Agriculture' and the Director of the Laboratory of Utilization of Natural Resources and Agricultural Engineering at H.M.U.
He holds a degree in Agricultural Biology and Biotechnology from the Agricultural University of Athens, a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Patras, and a Ph.D. from the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds.
His research interests include waste management, treatment, and utilization, both energy and non-energy, of solid and liquid waste from urban or agricultural/agro-industrial environments. Dr. Manios has more than 115 publications in waste management, with an h-index of 28 and over 3,300 citations.
He has managed over 50 research projects funded by national and European sources and private entities, with total funding exceeding 12 million euros. Dr. Manios will be the scientific coordinator and oversee the project's implementation on behalf of H.M.U.
